Note: Working moms
are moms and wives first. If her family is happy, so will her work environs be.
I am focusing in
the next few blog posts a woman’s role in her new home. We will get to the work
bit by and by. Kindly bear with me. J

Your daily rituals should be something like
this, add or minus what seems comfortable to you:
Have bath early in
the morning and dress up such that you are ready to receive guests any time of
the day
You could put on
light makeup and perfume.
When your nail polish
is fading, immediately remove the remaining nail polish and apply a fresh one.
At no point should your nails be bereft of paint. Needless to say, manicure and
pedicure your fingers and toe nails before adding the final touches. If you don’t
know how to do it, go to a parlour and observe what they do and how. Now do it
at home. ;)
Light the lamp,
burn essence and say your prayers
Make tea or coffee
and serve everybody
Read the newspaper
and business mags.
Be aware of what’s happening around your
neighbourhood
Clear the tea or
coffee tray
Supervise the
breakfast making or watch your mother-in-law as she supervises
Lay the breakfast
table. Add your personal touch to it. Decorate the table with flowers in the
center.
Warm the plates as
I have mentioned elsewhere in the book.
Inform everybody
that the breakfast is served
Once they are
seated, serve the breakfast and then take your seat. Ensure that everybody has
eaten well. Insist on putting more food on their plates. It goes without saying
that the food should be piping hot and tasty.
Before you set the table, check for any discrepancy in the food and take
corrective measures in case there is some ingredient missing.
Clear the
breakfast table after your family has finished eating
Wipe the table
with a clean, slightly damp cloth and then, with some oil, polish the table.
Cover the table with a fresh table cloth and place crystal-ware or a bunch of
flowers on top of the cloth.
Give all the staff
the rest of the breakfast food to eat.
Have I missed
something in my journey of becoming a Mom
In A C-Suite? Feel free to
add your tips and suggestions in a post of your own. (Wink, wink)
